Headed To Regionals
Skaters from the Jamestown Skating Club pose for a photo before hitting the road to compete in the
North Atlantic Regionals at Hackensack, N.J., on Saturday. The Skating Academy, under the direction of Lenel van den Berg
and Kirk Wyse, is sending one of the largest contingency of competitors. From left are Stephanie Hice, Paige Conners, Samantha
Dalrymple, Jaylyn Orwig, Megan Jones, Madelaine Geary, Rebecca Hummel, Adrian Rosenberg, Elizabeth Newell, Amber Walczyk,
Christina Walczak, Alexis Darrow, Deanna Baudo and Jordan Bauth. Absent are Eleanor Elchert, Taylor Firth and Dorian Burks.
At regionals, skaters compete at the Novice through Senior level to advance to the Eastern Sectionals which are being held
at Newark, Del. Skaters at the Juvenile through Intermediate levels compete to earn a berth to the Junior Nationals at
Cleveland. The Jamestown Skating Club has hosted three regional championships and the junior nationals since the Jamestown
Savings Bank Ice Arena opened in 2002.
